Ute District 2008 spring Cook-o-ree Outdoors cooking has always been an important part of the scounting experience. Scouts and Scouters alike are proud of their cooking skills and have often been surprised by the ingenuity of others. So why not have a camporee with a cooking theme?

Join us as we explore the many aspesct of outdoor cooking at the 2008 Ute District Spring 2008 Cook-o-ree!

• Challengs: Cooking gear selection, menu planning, food safety
• Demonstrations: Advance dutch oven cooking, spit roasting, meat curing and ice cream making
• Youth Cooking Competitions:: Best Starch dish, best vegetable dish, best combined dish, best salad
• Adult Cooking Competition: Best Dutch oven desert
• Sports and Games:
• The Big Luau Dinner: where the entire camp joins together to consume roasted pig!
• OA Callout and much, much more

Cost is $12.00 per person plus $10.00 per unit. Register at the Council Service Center through 21 april 2008. After April 21st units will pay a $10.00 late fee. There will be no registrations accepted after April 23rd so sign up now!

Scout Show

The 2008 Scout show will be held at the Phil Long Expo center on April 19th. We are looking for units to set up booths and show off what scouting is to the people of Colorado Springs. Contact Fritz Mueller (219)-2906) for more information.
